The Corrections Division is responsible for managing all functions related to prisoners and jail operations. Prisoner management primarily includes care, custody, and control, intake and release, housing, and transportation of prisoners. In addition to these responsibilities, the department provides a wide array of quality services including medical, mental health, food, counseling, recreation, religious, and education.
While the Corrections Division is the least visible aspect of Sheriff's Office operations, it is the largest part of the Office employing over 40 sworn and civilian staff.
