The Community Involvement Team is a non-profit 501c3 community coalition that aims at building a positive rapport between law enforcement members and the citizens of Geary County and surrounding communities. The support of our local communities is vital for the success of our organization.
The Community Involvement Program currently participates in numerous events within our community to include Touch a Truck, 4H Fair, Junction City Block Party, Shop with a Cop, Operation Milford Santa, Sundown Salute and the Float your Boat event. At these events we are able to meet and greet with the citizens of Geary County and surrounding communities to provide children with water bottles, educational materials, crayons, junior deputy badges ETC. The minimum cost per year exceeds $2,000.
One of our major goals is to bring a summer camp program to the community geared towards serving today’s 5th and 6th grade youth. The Community Involvement Team is hopeful that you will consider making a financial contribution towards the development of Camp SHIELD (Sheriffs Helping to Inspire and Encourage through Leadership Development) and or The Community Involvement Team. Camp SHIELD will empower these children and arm them with the necessary skills to become successful and respectful adults. It is our hope that the camp will leave a lasting impression on the youth and parents in our community.
Camp SHIELD is scheduled to launch in Spring of 2019 and continue on an annual basis at an undisclosed location within Junction City. Your contributions will fully fund this all-inclusive camp serving approximately thirty children from Geary County. The camp staff will operate on a volunteer basis, so your funds will cover the cost of camp fees, supplies and equipment. The initial startup cost for the camp will be $25,000. All donations are appreciated and are tax deductible!
