Undersheriff Justin Stopper
Undersheriff Stopper has served the citizens of Geary County since 2005. Following his graduation from Kansas State University, he began a brief stint as a Park Ranger at Milford State Park. In 2006, he was hired by the City of Junction City as a Police Officer. Undersheriff Stopper accepted a position as a Deputy Sheriff for the Geary County Sheriff’s Office in 2009, and has since filled many roles within the Office. While the vast majority of his career was spent as a Lieutenant on the Criminal Interdiction Team, Undersheriff Stopper has also served as a Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Patrol Lieutenant, K9 Handler, SWAT Operator/Sniper, SWAT Commander, and most recently as the Commander of the Special Operations Division. Undersheriff Stopper still serves as one of the Office’s K9 Handlers, handling a single purpose K9 named “Nova”. In addition to his work at the Geary County Sheriff’s Office, Undersheriff Stopper devotes hundreds of hours a year teaching Criminal Interdiction to thousands of law enforcement officers across the United States.
